My name is Vilma Caracheo, and I currently teach Geometry PAP at Dr. Cano Freshman Academy in Harlingen, TX. I am a first-generation undergraduate student from The University of Texas at Brownsville.
As a teacher, I am always looking to improve my skills, methods, and techniques to be a better educator. I plan to earn my master’s degree in Curriculum and Instruction with a concentration in mathematics in Fall of 2022. With this degree, I believe it will give me the knowledge and skills to become a mathematics instructional leader and serve a more diverse population in both in the K-12 classroom and in a college settings.
Professionally, I want to seek a position as a dual enrollment teacher or instructional coach. My experience, math knowledge, and my M.Ed. in Curriculum and Instruction will provide me with the tools necessary to become a leader in my school district and advocate for mathematics education.
